Whittier Residential Traffic Study: Trip Generation & VMT Screening for 14-Unit Townhomes
Project Description: Provided comprehensive traffic engineering and transportation planning services for a 14-unit townhouse development in Whittier, CA. Using the ITE Trip Generation Manual (11th Edition), we conducted a comparative analysis of existing vs. proposed land use to establish the project's trip generation rates.
A critical component of the scope included a VMT (Vehicle Miles Traveled) analysis utilizing regional VMT screening tools to meet SB 743 and CEQA transportation impact requirements. We authored the formal traffic screening determination letter, navigating the jurisdictional review process with the City of Whittier to prove the project’s limited impact on local traffic circulation. This data-driven approach facilitated project acceptance while ensuring full compliance with California Environmental Quality Act standards.
